the green act

Prologue

Green Act is the name of Kolpin Hotels’ sustainability journey. The name was chosen because it combines both our sustainable (Green) journey and our theatrical roots (Act). This initiative is a step towards creating experiences where environmental awareness goes hand in hand with what we offer our guests.

Green Act strategy

Kitchen

The hotel aims to reduce food waste through improved sorting, minimizing surplus food, and monitoring waste patterns to lessen environmental impact.

The hotel’s restaurant will place greater focus on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and we will also place increased emphasis on the development and ongoing training of our staff.

Energy & water

Sensors have been installed at Roberta’s Society, and all light sources use LED bulbs.

To conserve water, the shower pressure in all rooms and public restrooms has been adjusted.

HOUSEKEEPING

Our Housekeeping team has implemented the Ecolab cleaning system. This new system uses fewer cleaning agents, minimizing waste and eliminating harmful chemicals, as the products are 100% biodegradable.

At the same time, the system helps improve employee well-being. Cleaning reports have also been digitalized to reduce paper consumption and enhance communication.

operations

Roberta’s Society, like all Kolpin Hotels properties, is part of a cloud-based HMS system, helping to reduce paper usage and streamline operations.

Digital registration cards and invoices sent via email have further reduced paper usage. Our partnership with AeroGuest allows guests to access information through an app and QR codes.

We also partner with Faundit.com, which assists with the handling of lost items. Through this service, our guests have the option to donate forgotten belongings, and a tree is planted for each item returned through the organization.

purchasing

In 2023, Kolpin Hotels focused on reassessing the supply chain and forming partnerships with suppliers who share our values.

The goal for 2025 and beyond is to ensure efficient and coherent operations across all properties, with an emphasis on improving sustainability.

We have also developed a Supplier Code of Conduct and are working on building partnerships with local suppliers wherever possible.

single-use plastic

In July 2025, all toiletries in our rooms were replaced with full-size refillable products. These are produced in collaboration with a local Danish brand.

The switch to refillable glass bottles significantly reduces plastic waste while supporting our mission to collaborate with local businesses, where production and delivery are more sustainable. This initiative also aims to ensure the full use of the products.

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT

A central goal has been, and continues to be, to engage employees in our Green Act sustainability strategy and raise awareness of sustainability.

The whistleblower initiative has been introduced to address concerns regarding misconduct or discrimination.

To further involve staff, activities focused on sustainability will be added to our annual team-building events.

Local and community-based events are also a fundamental part of Roberta’s DNA and values.

Roberta’s Society actively promotes social sustainability by creating open, inclusive spaces for community and cultural interaction. Through daily communal meals, outdoor events, music, talks, and creative activities with local artists, residents are invited into a vibrant and engaging environment.
